Mr. Ayer, a studio writer (“Training Day”) and indie film director (“End of Watch”), had been meditating for years on the “Fury” screenplay, but he wrote it in a burst about 18 months ago. “It sort of exploded out,” he said. “I wrote it for me.”

The resulting movie, Mr. Ayer said, was intended both as a personal journey and as a correction to the pop cultural record.

On the personal front, “Fury” is meant to unlock the psychology of Mr. Ayer’s older relations, who fought but seldom spoke of it. And the film trades on his own military experience as a sonar operator on an attack submarine in the 1980s.

“Looking back into World War II, I could see the same family I was serving with,” Mr. Ayer said. “But what they experienced was really incomprehensible to me.”

The time also seemed right for an honest look at those who were fighting and dying in ferocious encounters even as the German surrender was imminent, he said. “There is a lot of contemporary parallel here,” Mr. Ayer said, referring to soldiers who confront death in Afghanistan, for instance, even as American engagement there is supposed to be ending.

Their problem is that of Mr. Pitt’s character, known as Wardaddy, and the four tankers — portrayed by Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Peña and Jon Bernthal — whom he has pledged to keep alive, Mr. Ayer said.

Stream Watch The Judge Online Megashare Full Movie, In the proverbial olden days, The Judge would be the kind of film that the studios would happily allow Robert Downey Jr. to make after he hit pay-dirt with Iron Man. However, in this era of the uber-rate star vehicle, it has taken 6.5 years for Mr. Downey Jr. to get this passion project of his to the screen following his cinematic comeback.

Truth be told, this is arguably the first real test of his stardom outside of brand-name franchises since he reemerged as a major movie star, since pretty much every film he has made since his Iron Man/Tropic Thunder double-whammy has been a Marvel adventure or a Guy Ritchie-helmed Sherlock Holmes caper.

I say “pretty much,” because he did have the long-delayed The Soloist with Jamie Foxx that was somewhat dumped into theaters in early 2009 to little fanfare ($38 million worldwide on a $60m budget) and less acclaim. He also had the rather successful Due Date that opened in October of 2010 and earned $221m on a $65m budget. But if we’re being fair, The Judge will be a more honest chance to examine Downey Jr.’s star power outside of a firmly branded character. As such, it would do well to remember that Warner Bros.’ The Judge is not a terribly expensive film and that presumably Warner Bros. gains the gratitude of Robert Downey Jr. by virtue of its production if said gratitude is needed at a later date. Moreover, the film is indeed the kind of old-school character drama that used to be a studio programmer, so it will be interesting to see if the grown-ups who complain about a lack of multiplex options show up this weekend or whether they have been satiated by Gone Girl.

Of course, as I’m sure most of you know, movies aimed at older audiences tend to open smaller and have legs as the older audiences don’t necessarily camp out for the first Thursday night showing. So even a $20 million debut, which seems about right offhand, may well lead to a $60m domestic total over the long haul. Of course, the film premiered to relatively weak reviews in Toronto a month ago, which effectively killed any Oscar hopes. So whatever money the film will make in theaters will be made in the now, rather than an initial box office run and then periodic award-season bumps.

Watch Dracula Untold Online Like Bram Stoker before them, screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (the forthcoming “Gods of Egypt”) take their inspiration from the real historical figure of Vlad Dracula (aka Vlad the Impaler), a 15th-century Transylvanian prince, taken hostage as a teenager by warring Ottoman Turks and trained in their military ways (events recounted here in a visually striking prologue comprised of three-dimensional static images). We then pick things up a couple of decades later, where an adult Vlad (Luke Evans, suitably glowering and downcast) has returned to his people, who maintain an uneasy peace with the ever-looming Turks. When the new Sultan, Vlad’s childhood frienemy Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper), demands 1,000 Transylvanian youths as conscripts for his army — among them, Vlad’s own son, Ingeras (Art Parkinson, cementing a very conspicuous “Game of Thrones” vibe) — the war-weary prince sees no option but to defy the Sultan’s demands. And so the outnumbered, out-sworded Transylvanians prepare for battle.

But lo, all hope is not lost for ye who enter here — here being a mountain cave stumbled upon by Vlad and two adjutants, wherein lurks an ancient ur-vampire (a lip-smacking Charles Dance) who, after making mincemeat out of the prince’s traveling companions, offers him a special trial membership (who knew?) in the cult of the undead. Drink his blood, says the vampire, and for three days Vlad will possess the strength of 10 men, along with a voracious craving for human blood. If he succumbs to that temptation, then vampire he shall remain for eternity. If he can resist, then at dawn on the third day the curse will be lifted.

Watch Left Behind Online, In the new Left Behind movie, Cage plays Captain Rayford Steele (don't let the badass name fool you), a commercial airline pilot who was supposed to celebrate his birthday with his family, but instead gets a last-minute assignment to fly from New York to London -- a trip that should only take him one night to get there and one night to get back. The thing is, Rayford's extending his stay in London to get away from his wife (Lea Thompson), who's been a drag ever since she found Jesus and started pushing her beliefs on the rest of the family. However, this also means Rayford will be missing his daughter, Chloe (Cassi Thomson), who flew in from college just to be with him on his birthday. Wah, wah...

To make Rayford seem like even more of a jerk, he's also carrying on an affair with one of his flight attendants, played by Nicky Whelan. (Adultery -- check!) Meanwhile
Chloe plans to confront her mom about her religious beliefs in an attempt to sway her back to reason. (Not honoring thy mother -- check!)

There's also Buck Williams (Chad Michael Murray), a dashing, heartthrob journalist who happens to be on Rayford's flight. This is the part Cameron played in the original movie, so... Murray's an improvement, I guess. Of course, Murray is also able to hit it off with Chloe for all of five minutes before he boards his flight, thus establishing an inexplicable romance between them.

Watch Bang Bang Movie Online

Watch Bang Bang Movie Online, Well it's been 2 years since I last posted a review for this movie... I have just purchased the "Special Edition" version mainly because at last there is a wide-screen DVD version now available! This was one movie that suffered very greatly from a standard T.V format transfer ..... Now in wide-screen,it is possible to see the cinematography as it was intended to be viewed from the original Super Panavision format,even though there is still some "enhanced"

format alteration to bring it into line with 16:9 ratio and luckily it was shot in Technicolor,which was easily the best analogue colour system around. Perspectives can now be seen as intended and the beautiful sets and the dance routines look vastly better... you can actually see all the dancers ! Take for instance one scene in Caractacus Potts windmill laboratory,where he shows Truly Scrumptious one of his inventions with which he intends to transmit "pictures and sound".....in the standard format half of the shot is missing so the machine cannot be fully seen and it makes no sense.. however in wide-screen you can see the "picture" and also the whole machine; so now you can enjoy one of Emmet Rolands fantasy machine creations in full. All through the movie the scenery and sets are set up framed with objects in the foreground and back ground which lend to perspective and depth of the image. The sound track seems also to have been worked on .. in previous releases the children's voices seemed to "squeak" but now they sound much more natural. You can see how much we have been missing with previous releases and it is a lot. The Special Edition also has some featurettes on the making of the movie and other related information plus a lovely booklet as well.

As to the movie itself .... it has never lost it's magic for me. I see reviews which pan the musical numbers or say it's too long or that

after seeing it as an adult they were disappointed from what they remember as a child ... but is that not the point ? It is a movie for children and/or those adults who can still view it remembering the child in themselves. It has no coarse language , no mindless violence (except the pantomime variety).. no cynicism ...just fun. In short it is a type of movie that Hollywood can no longer make because they no longer know how ... so it should be treasured more for it. People criticize Dick Van Dykes "American" accent but I find it not intrusive at all ... in fact he would probably have been better off using his normal voice in "Mary Poppins" than attempting the cockney accent which he obviously had some difficulty with.
